Originating in India nearly 5,000 years ago, chai has been loved by many. Legend has it that chai didn’t originally contain tea leaves, milk or sugar when it was first created. It was only comprised of a mix of spices native to India and was used for Ayurveda, an all-natural Indian healing practice. (Fun fact: “chai” means tea, so when you say “chai tea,” you’re really saying “tea tea.”)

Tea has been around for centuries and is known for its many health benefits. Microground tea is a fine powder and does not have to be steeped in the same way leaves do. An instant-ready, new and innovative way to enjoy all the benefits of tea. Just add water or any dairy or non dairy milk alternative and enjoy! It's perfect for on-the-go lifestyles and can be enjoyed hot or cold.

London fog is a hot tea-based drink that consists of Earl Grey tea, steamed milk, and vanilla syrup. It was invented in Vancouver, Canada, in the 1990s by Mary Loria. After inventing the drink, she began ordering the drink at other cafes and recommending it to others. The trend spread. Despite conceiving the drink herself, Loria does not know who created the name. The term 'fog' refers to the steamed milk. Fun fact,  In Scotland, this drink is known as a "Vancouver Fog."

We decided to kick up our Original Chai by adding Turmeric. Aside from the traditionally believed anecdotal  benefits of helping with mild digestive issues and discomforts, Turmeric also adds wonderful color and adds a warmth, bitterness, black pepper like flavor to our incredible recipe. Chai us out, we know you be happy you did.
